Upcoming Events – Church News
OCWM – Our Churches Wider Mission believes in changing lives by raising our children in faith, by equipping our leaders for children’s and youth ministries, by fostering spiritual growth and discernment, by supporting clergy and spouses, by providing financing for new church starts and church buildings, and by nurturing partnerships with people and churches across the globe. Benevolence giving for August supports OCWM.
CEMETERY TRIMMING – Plant life has enjoyed all the rain this year, and Evergreen Cemetery is in need of some trimming again. There will be a trimming day Saturday, August 24th from 9AM to noon to clean things up before Labor Day weekend. Please bring your favorite trimming tools.
NOISY OFFERING – What is a noisy offering? It is when you bring your change to church and drop it into a metal can. The funds raised will be used for a particular purpose. The plan for now is to supplement the Loaves and Fishes fund with the collections. We will be collecting our first “noisy offering” on August 25th and will plan to do this the fourth Sunday of each month. If the purpose of the noisy offering changes or the Sunday for collection needs to change, the mission committee will let you know. Let’s make some noise!
LOAVES AND FISHES – St. Paul will be serving the Loaves & Fishes dinner on Thursday, August 29th from 4:30 – 6:30PM. We have a Small Benevolence Fund here at St. Paul to help with meals. We would appreciate any monetary support you could donate. You can find sign-up sheets in the breezeway for volunteering.
FEAST – The fall semester of St. Paul UCC FEAST program will begin on Wednesday, September 18th to December 11, 2019. There will be a NEW format this year with many exciting activities. Please find registration forms in the back of the sanctuary or in the church office. Registration forms need to be turned in by September 8, 2019.
SUMMER LUNCH – The last day of summer lunch was this past Friday, August 16th. This has been a wonderful ministry. We have made many new friends. We are already making plans for next year. Thank you to all who volunteered their time for this ministry.
SERVANTS DAY – Servants Day is Saturday, September 14th, from 8AM to 4PM. Servants Day is a day when groups of volunteers will spend the day making repairs/improvements to the homes of those in need in the Wapakoneta area. If you are willing to volunteer we will find a job for you.
