WHERE IN THE WORLD IS PASTOR BECKY? – This morning Pastor Becky worshiped in Assisi, Italy. Pastor Becky is visiting many religious sites in Assisi, including the convent of San Damiano, just south of the city. It was here that St. Francis wrote his “Canticle of the Creatures” in 1225, which was eventually paraphrased into the text of “All Creatures of Our God and King.” On Tuesday, Becky will fly from Rome to Paris, where she has an overnight layover. Wednesday, she will arrive in Bremen, Germany to visit St. Martin’s Church, where Joachim Neander served at the time when he modified an existing tune into “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty” in 1680. On Thursday, she will travel by train to Velbert/Heiligenhaus near Mulheim, Germany where Gerhard Tersteegen wrote the text of “I Sing the Praise of Love Unbounded” in 1757. Becky will board a train for Cologne, Germany on Saturday. Cologne is where Friedrich Spee published the tune for “All Creatures of Our God and King” in 1623. Pastor Becky will worship in Cologne next Sunday.

FAVORITE HYMNS – In the coming year, we will be celebrating your favorite hymns in worship. We will sing all of our favorite songs, and Pastor Becky will use those hymns as the inspiration for her scripture selections and sermons. We need your help for this project to be a success! We will be passing out the forms for you to fill out. We would like to receive these forms back as soon as possible.

LOAVES AND FISHES – St. Paul will be serving the Loaves & Fishes dinner on Thursday, May 30th from 4:30 – 6:30PM.   We have a Small Benevolence Fund here at St. Paul to help with meals.    We would appreciate any monetary support you could donate. You can find sign-up sheets in the breezeway for volunteering.

JOIN OUR BREAKFAST GROUP – The Church Council would like to ask the congregation to refrain from eating or drinking in the sanctuary. Water in a closed container is permitted.  We have noticed an increase in food scraps in the pews and several stains.   Please consider joining the Breakfast Club in the fellowship  hall on Sunday mornings before the 10:15 service.  We love to visit and enjoy our breakfasts together.  You are always welcome.

SANCTUARY CLEAN-UP – The church council has scheduled a work day to clean the sanctuary on Saturday,  June 8, 2019.  We will meet  to do a thorough cleaning of the pews and the rest of the sanctuary.  Please bring your favorite cleaning tools such as sweepers, dust rags and swifters. Pizza will be furnished for lunch. Please come and join in the fun. Call the church office if you have any questions.   Thank you, St. Paul Church Council.
